Sustainability and the Digital Arts

Welcome to an exhibition of new student work from the MA Sustainability and Digital Arts module at SODA. The exhibition brings together multimedia projects responding to urgent questions around sustainability, ecology and technological change.

Developed by students from Games Art, Animation, Filmmaking, Photography, and Music and Sound Design, the works explore themes including AI water usage, resource extraction, mental health, environmental activism, care, and more-than-human ecologies. They highlight how digital art can make environmental issues more visible, immediate and engaging. The projects were shaped through discussions and workshops with practitioners and collaborators including curator Polina Chizhova, artist Fiona Brehony, and the Bruntwood SciTech team, helping ground the work in current ecological debate.
